After a few years apart during the pandemic, we were thrilled and energized to come together safely in person with our generous Helen Keller community.
Guests met one another at the reception and evening program, while learning more about Helen Keller’s work to combat hunger and malnutrition worldwide.
We honored two remarkable women who embody the spirit of Helen Keller, Carla Hall and Eleanor Crook.
Both are powerful examples of generosity in action.
Eleanor Crook was honored with the Spirit of Helen Keller Award for her philanthropy, advocacy, and vision of creating a world in which every mother can nourish her children.
Chef and trustee Carla Hall received the Helen Keller Visionary Award for her work as an outstanding spokesperson who uses her public platform to shine a light on families vulnerable to malnutrition and vision loss.
Our global community of donors took action on behalf of the world’s most vulnerable children and families.
With the support of the Eleanor Crook Foundation, Carla Hall and Desmond G. FitzGerald, all gala gifts were also matched that evening!
We raised over $1 million, ensuring good health, sound nutrition and clear vision so that children can reach their true potential.
Helen Keller mobilizes a global community, and we appreciate everyone who helped bring the Spirit of Helen Gala to life!
Thanks to our amazing co-chairs for their leadership.
Cheers to everyone who supported our event. We hope you’ll get a chance to watch online if you didn’t make it this year.
On May 2, 2022, we hosted the return of the in-person Spirit of Helen Keller Gala, our most important event to generate crucial revenue and help vulnerable children and families around the world. In-person guests enjoyed dinner and programming at The Lighthouse | Pier 61, at Chelsea Piers in New York City, while virtual attendees participated online.
