Building a Healthier World for All: Commitments of $27 Billion Pledged at 2025 Nutrition for Growth Summit
Last week, policy advocates, philanthropic partners, and global leaders convened in Paris for the Nutrition for Growth Summit—where they affirmed their collective commitment to ending global malnutrition.
The gathering came at a critical moment, as lifesaving nutrition interventions face unprecedented challenges due to significant cuts to government funding.
In total, 127 delegations, including representatives from 106 countries, pledged over $27 billion to combat malnutrition.
Helen Keller Intl’s delegation spent a productive week in Paris, connecting with longstanding allies, forging new partnerships, and sharing our knowledge as a global expert in cost-effective, evidence-based solutions for improving nutrition.
Helen Keller proudly reaffirmed our commitment to building a healthier, more nourished future with four key pledges to invest in proven solutions:
- Vitamin A Supplementation to Reduce Child Mortality: In partnership with GiveWell, we are committing at least $35 million per year to provide vitamin A supplementation to 40 million children under five, aiming to reduce child mortality.
- Comprehensive Prenatal Vitamins to Improve Maternal and Child Health: We will prioritize transitioning from iron and folic acid to multiple micronutrient supplements in at least six countries by 2028 to improve maternal and child health and wellbeing.
- Food Fortification to Support Well-Nourished Communities: We will support food fortification programs in at least five countries with high micronutrient deficiencies by 2028, collaborating with governments, donors, and the private sector to strengthen these initiatives.
- Advocacy for Increased Nutrition Funding to Build a Healthier World: We will advocate for the allocation of domestic resources for nutrition-specific interventions in the national budgets of at least 50% of the countries where we work by 2028, to provide access to lifesaving malnutrition prevention and treatment.
These commitments underscore Helen Keller’s relentless dedication to building a world where everyone has the opportunity to live a healthy life and reach their true potential.
Helen Keller’s advocacy efforts also caught the attention of several global health journalists. Here’s a round-up of our media coverage from the last week.
