Selinee Gonzalez is a shy sixth grader who lives in Sunset Park, Brooklyn with her two sisters. She struggled to read notes on the board. “When I move to the front of the room, I can see better,” she said. But Selinee isn’t always able to sit in the front row which has caused her to struggle in some of her classes. It has also been difficult for her to participate in sports and other activities because she feels that she can’t see very well. She never told her parents that she had trouble seeing and had never before had her vision screened. Thanks to ChildSight®, Selinee had her vision screened and has received a free pair of prescription eyeglasses which will help her focus and excel in the classroom and beyond.
